Leeds Beckett is one of the most popular universities in the UK. It has more than 135 undergraduate and 200 postgraduate courses. Ranked 4th in the UK for graduate employment, it has a rich history and more than 190 years’ teaching experience. Leeds Beckett has an established reputation for courses in retail marketing, international tourism, and hospitality management.

This is one of the largest further education institutions in the country and a key partner in delivering Ambition:Leeds training. It already operates out of three main campuses in Leeds, as well as having provisions in smaller community centres across the city. The College offers a diverse curriculum to more than 20,000 students and is one of the biggest providers of apprenticeships nationally.

The Ambition:Leeds training space is provided by Trinity/Land Securities and located adjacent to the Trinity Leeds shopping centre. Land Securities Group plc is the largest commercial property development and investment company in the UK. The Point training hub, at the Land Securities White Rose Shopping Centre, is also partnering with the initiative.

The Source Academy, based at Meadowhall shopping centre, is a leading provider of training and development. It was set up by British Land in partnership with Sheffield City council in 2003 and since then has built a national reputation as a specialist in retail and customer service training. It is an approved skills academy for the delivery of apprenticeships nationwide.

Innovative work by lead partner, Leeds City Council, has led to the collaboration of developers and employers as part of the Victoria Gates and Trinity Leeds developments. The Council has a significant focus on supporting the industry; over 100,000 people are employed in the retail and hospitality sector in Leeds, and 5,310 related businesses are based in Leeds.

LeedsBID is a principal partner in the Ambition:Leeds project. It represents over 900 organisations and is focused on delivering an ambitious business plan to transform Leeds city centre. Supporting innovative projects such as Ambition:Leeds and providing key investment, LeedsBID aims to make Leeds city centre a cleaner, safer and more welcoming place.
